Multiple Part Selection and Assembly Selection

The Multiple Part Selection and the Assembly Selection options can be used by Tablet and iPad users to select multiple parts or assemblies in any of the Viewer pages. Both features work the same. Below is an example of how to use the Multiple Part Selection feature:

  1. Click the Click to Change Settings gear icon and then select the Multiple Part Selection checkbox in the flyoutsub-menu.
  2. Click either a part or space on the canvas and the flyout the sub-menu will disappear.
  3. Click multiple parts and they will all be selected.
  4. Click the first part, the last part, and then the Select Connected tool to select all parts between the 2 initially selected parts.
  5. Tools like those under Actions can be used once parts are selected.


  6. Click in empty space to clear your part selections.

Assembly Viewer Toggle Orientation

Use the Toggle Orientation button to give you more screen width when viewing an assembly with a table.

  1. Below is the default side-by-side view where the 3D View is next to the Parts list.
  2. Click the Toggle Orientation button (top right) to toggle the page layout.



  3. The Parts list will re-orient under the 3D view and both views expand to the width of the tablet.



  4. Click the Toggle Orientation button again to restore the side-by-side orientation.

Assembly Report Full Screen button

  1. Once you have generated a report under Assemblies > Viewer > Report, to maximize the screen size, click the Full Screen Mode  button.



  2. Click the Exit Full Screen Mode button to return to the normal view.


Tablet Recomendations

STRATUS can run on any web-enabled device. Based on customer feedback, the Customer Success Group recommends Microsft Surface tablets. Below is a summary.

  1. Finger navigation - When navigating with your finger, you are either touching the screen or not.
  2. Hover Pen navigation - (Recommended) Surface tablet pens provide the ability to hover over buttons. (Option) Currently, iPad pens do not provide this functionality. The ability to hover over objects enables you to manually pull dimensions using the STRATUS Dimensioning tool.
  3. Zoom - (Recommended) Zoom is the same on any tablet whereby 2 fingers are used to zoom in/out.
  4. Pan - (Recommended) Select the Forge Viewer's Pan tool to pan the viewer. This allows you to pan with one finger. (Option) With 2 fingers pressing the screen, pan the viewer.
  5. Rotate - (Recommended) Use the dimension cube to rotate the view. (Option) With 2 fingers pressing the screen, swivel your 2 fingers to rotate.
  6. Select Multiple parts - (Recommended) Use the STRATUS gear as described above to select multiple parts or to use the Select Connected tool.
  7. Full Screen - (Recommended) Use the Toggle Orientation button (top right) to toggle the page layout so that the 3D viewer and the Parts list are vertically in full screen mode.(Option) Use the Forge Viewer Full Screen tool which puts the 3D viewer in full screen mode but eliminates the Parts list.
