Tablet Recomendations
STRATUS can run on any web-enabled device. Based on customer feedback, the Customer Success Group recommends Microsft Surface tablets. Below is a summary.
- Finger navigation - When navigating with your finger, you are either touching the screen or not. Your finger does not provide any functionality when hovering over an object.
- Hover Pen navigation - (Recommended) Surface tablet pens provide the ability to hover over buttons. Hover 1/8" to 1/4" above the object to view options. (Option) Currently, iPad pens do not provide this functionality. The ability to hover over objects enables you to manually pull dimensions using the STRATUS Dimensioning tool. Pens enable operators to keep gloves on and still execute many touchscreen functions. There are some work glove brands that enable use of gloved fingers on touchscreens.
- Zoom - (Recommended) Zoom is the same on any tablet whereby 2 fingers are used to zoom in/out.
- Pan - (Recommended) Select the Forge Viewer's Pan tool to pan the viewer. This allows you to pan with one finger. (Option) With 2 fingers pressing the screen, pan the viewer.
- Rotate - (Recommended) Use the dimension cube to rotate the view with a pen; it's difficult to use with your finger. (Option) With 2 fingers pressing the screen, swivel your 2 fingers to rotate.
- Select Multiple parts - (Recommended) Use the STRATUS gear as described above to select multiple parts or to use the Select Connected tool.
- Full Screen - (Recommended) Use the Toggle Orientation button (top right) to toggle the page layout so that the 3D viewer and the Parts list are vertically in full screen mode.(Option) Use the Forge Viewer Full Screen tool which puts the 3D viewer in full screen mode but eliminates the Parts list.
- Display Grid and Grid Offset Measurement tools - Both tools work well to pull dimensions on any tablet.
- Move tags - Touch tag to select and then touch the target position to move and place the tag. There is no click and drag capability on a tablet.
- Manual Dimensioning - (Recommended) Surface tablet pens provide the ability to hover over buttons which will cycle through and select the dimensioning node. Once selected, drag to place the dimension.

Report Won't Generate on iPad
When a report won't generate (Ex. Models > Viewer > Actions > Report > a CSV or PDF report) on an iPad, the problem is usually with the Safari Pop-Up Blocker.
To fix the issue:
- Go to Settings > Safari > Block Pop-Ups and turn off the setting to Block Pop-Ups.
