Q:     How can I export table data to CSV or Excel File Format. 

A:     Most data tables include a CSV button that will export all table dataand an Excel button. The exported data will include “All” entries regardless of number selected in the Show entries drop-down list for the table. For example: 1. Click the CSV button (examples below) and

CSV - The CSV button exports the data table to the CSV file format. If you intend to import data back into STRATUS, the file will need to be saved as a CSV file.

Excel - The Excel exports the data table to an Excel file. If you intend to import data back into STRATUS, the file will need to be saved as a CSV file.

To Export table data:

1. The CSV and Excel download data table buttons display on many STRATUS pages. Notice that Loaded entries inform you how many rows have loaded out of how many entries will be loaded.

2a. If you click either the CSV or Excel download data table button before all entries have been loaded, the following message will display.

2b. Generate - If the user clicks the Generate button, a partial file will download indicated with (Partial) in the file name.

2c. Cancel - Click Cancel to wait for all data table records to load.

3. The file will either download to your Downloads folder or you will be prompted for the output format which can be an Excel file or a CSV file. If you click Save File, locate the file in your Downloads folder.

5. If you use a column header filter like Status, the output will be limited to the filtered list.

3a. Open with - To Open with, select Open with radio button with Excel selected regardless of which button was clicked. If the CSV button was clicked in STRATUS, the file will open in the CSV file format. If the Excel button was clicked in STRATUS, the file will open in the Excel file format.

3b. Save File -To save the file, click the Save File radio button. If the CSV button was clicked in STRATUS, the file will save in the CSV file format. If the Excel button was clicked in STRATUS, the file will save in the Excel file format.

Q: How can I Import CSV table data?

A:     While many data tables can exported, only a few include an Import CSV button.

Containers Example: To export the Containers to CSV:

  1. Download the CSV file - Click the CSV button. The CSV is downloaded and can be opened.

  2. Edit Existing Data and Import - To edit existing containers for import, edit any data value except Division and Id. All Names must be unique. When done Click the Import CSV button. In this example, the Name in the highlighted row was edited.

  3. Add a New Row - To add a new row:

    1. Add the data and leave the Id blank.

    2. Click Import CSV. The new rows will display.

    3. Click the CSV button to export the table and the new rows will have been assigned an Id.

  4. Duplicate Id - Copy a row, change the Name to a unique value, but duplicate an Id.

    1. The row will be imported, however it will replace the row that previously had the Id.

    2. After clicking CSV to export, you’ll see that CSG _ Pallet _ 005 which had the duplicate Id was overwritten to CSG _ Pallet _ 006 and takes over the Id.

  5. Duplicate a Name - Duplicate a Name and Import. An error similar to the following will display.
