This article documents the STRATUS Sheet tab functionality. The STRATUS Sheet is a Report and a Template that can be formatted to print as a PDF. When the STRATUS Template includes a View (Iso, Front, Top) the parts in the 3D viewer will display in the STRATUS Sheet and if displayed will also include tags and dimension labels. Tags and Dimensions can be modified in the STRATUS Sheet. The STRATUS Sheet tab functionality is almost identical between the Assemblies the Assemblies > Viewer and the Packages the Packages > Viewer.

Default Assembly Report

When the Assemblies > Viewer loads an assembly for the first time, there are 2 methods that can be used to select the default part report. Method 1 requires that the assembly be within a package. Method 2 has been in STRATUS for a long time and can still be used.

Note: Using either method, if a different report is selected after the assembly loads for the first, the system will select that same report the next time you view that particular assembly.

Method 1 - Packages > Categories > Default Assembly Report

Default Assembly Report  - Under Admin > Company > Package Categories, the Default Assembly Report option enables administrators to select a default Parts report when loading an assembly for the first time in the Assemblies > Viewer. The selected report is associated with a specific Package Category. Therefore the default report will only apply to assemblies included in packages within the Package Category.

See the Default Assembly Report article for more information.

This method was added to STRATUS in v6.3.1.

Method 2 - Report > Assemblies Filter

Assembly Filter - Under Admin > Company > Reports, an Assembly Filter can be set to select a default Parts report when loading an assembly for the first time in the Assemblies > Viewer. When the assembly loads, the selected Assembly Filter will compare the parts in the assembly with the Assembly Filter for each relevant Report. The Assembly Filter that matches the most parts will be selected as the default Report.

This was the only method to select a default report until v6.3.1.

Tags, Dimension Labels, and Orientation

The ability to move move and hide Tags and update Dimension labels is the same for STRATUS Sheets in Packages for STRATUS Sheets in Packages and Assemblies. The orientation set by the View can also be overridden.

To move or hide tags/dimension labels in the STRATUS Sheet:

  1. If neither the Dimensioning or Display - Item Numbers tool is turned on in the 3D viewer:

    1. Neither Dimension or Item Numbers will display in the 3D Viewer.
Note: In the example below, the STRATUS Sheet Report > Template > View Style settings for Render Dimensions and Render Item Numbers is checked, therefore, these display in the STRATUS Sheet but are not editable.  See the View Styles (Admin) article for more information.

  5. Note: If you try to set the orientation on a view placeholder with all parts filtered out (the assembly will not display if all parts have been filtered out) based on the view style set on the template, you will get a message saying that there is nothing visible to be oriented and the operation will be canceled.
