STRATUS Installer Updates?

  • Revit and AutoCAD Addin - Yes

  • STRATUS Workstation - Yes (Optional)

  • Print Workstation - Yes (Optional)

Updated the Properties Tool Display

The Properties Tool display has been updated.

  1. Parts Selected - The number of parts selected in the viewer displays.

  2. All Properties - Displays the total number of Properties included in the Template. When Hide Empty Values is checked the number of Properties can decrease.

    1. Unchecked - When Unchecked, only the properties set to display in the Display Template will display.

    2. Checked - When Checked, all Properties will display in alphabetic order. Previously, properties set to display in the Display Template would continue to display before the non-Display Template properties would display. If Hide Empty Values is checked, then those properties will not display.

    3. Note: The setting will persist after the is page refreshed.

  3. Hide Empty Values - Hides properties that have blank values.

    1. Unchecked - Allows the display of properties that have blank values

    2. Checked - Prevents the display of properties that have blank values.

    3. Note: The setting will persist after the is page refreshed.

  4. Edit Display Template - No change.

  5. Edit Item Number Rule - No change.

  6. CSV, Excel, Copy buttons - Removed the CSV, Excel, Copy buttons.

  7. Properties Table

    1. In the Properties table above, neither All Properties or Hide Empty Values is checked. Therefore, the Display Template, since one exists for this template, limits the table to Size, Item Descriptions, etc.

    2. In the Properties table below, All Properties is checked. Therefore, all part properties display in alphabetic order including properties with Empty Values.

    3. In the Properties table below, All Properties and Hide Empty Values are checked. Therefore, all part properties except properties with Empty Values display in alphabetic order. In addition, the total number of properties decreased when properties with Empty values were removed from the table.

Updated STRATUS Workstation

STRATUS Workstation has a new look and some new features!

Added Setting: Cut Length Precision

The Cut Length Precision setting (Default = 1/16”) only applies to Length display and to printed labels. To change the Cut Length Precision:

  1. The cut list displays the Length values.

  2. Click Settings > Cut Length Precision drop-down. Select a value (Ex. 1/2”) and then click Save.

  3. The cut list page will refresh and display the cut Length values with the defined precision.

  4. When the part is cut, the actual length will be cut, not the precision display value.

  5. The label cut length will include the precision display value.

Added Setting: Round Cut Length Up

The Round Cut checkbox setting (Default = Unchecked) applies to the actual cut length value.

To change the Round Cut value:

  1. The cut list displays the Length values.

  2. Under Settings, the Round Cut checkbox displays.

    1. Unchecked (Default) - When unchecked, the cut length will be the actual cut length value.

    2. Checked - When checked, the actual cut length will be rounded according to the Cut Length Precision setting.

  3. Click Save.

  4. With the Round Cut checkbox checked, the cut list page will refresh and display the actual cut length rounded according to the Cut Length Precision setting.

  5. The cut and label will use the new cut length.

Added Setting: Cut Length Display Units

The Cut Length Display Units option toggles the display units to either Fractional Feet-Inches (Default) or Fractional Inches.

  1. By default, Cut Length Display Units are Fractional Feet-Inches.

  2. Under Settings > Cut Length Display Units, select an option (Ex. Fractional Inches).

  3. The Cut Length will display Fractional Inches.

  4. Configure the Tool label template to use the field lengthInInches. For example:
    ^FO175,160
    ^FD{{lengthInInches}}^FS

  5. When the label prints the cut length will display as Fractional Inches.

Expanded: Item Grouping Options

Expanded Item Grouping options to include:

Added Batch Size Option

Added the Batch Size option which creates cut list subgroups that will be cut before moving to the next subgroup. A Batch Size subgroup is used in combination with the Item Grouping (By Package, By Assembly, By Item Number) options. The purpose of a subgroup is to nest parts in a Batch according to the Item Grouping. If the Batch Size is 2 or more, all parts for the first two Item Groupings will be cut before moving to the next batch of 2. Currently, for a large list of cut list items, STRATUS Workstation optimizes the cuts to reduce waste which means the order that parts from different assemblies or packages are cut may not be optimal for assembly or shipping.

For example:

  1. With No Item Grouping, the Assembly sort order is random.

  2. Set Item Grouping to By Assembly. The list is sorted by Assembly.

  3. Batch Size

    1. Unchecked (default) - When unchecked the cut list will not enforce subgroups.

    2. Checked - When checked, the cut list will be organized in batches specified by the number entered. The cut list order may change.

      1. If Batch Size is 1, all parts for each assembly will be cut before moving to another assembly.

      2. If Batch Size is 2+, all parts for the first two assemblies will be cut before moving to the next batch of 2+ assemblies.

        1. As a result, the cut list will sort assemblies so that all parts for the first two assemblies will be cut before moving to the next batch of 2+ assemblies and a different assembly won’t be inserted in between. Notice that once the last -12 and -13 assembly has been cut, then the -14 assembly can be cut.

        2. Similarly, in this example with Batch Size = 3, the -12, -13, and -14 assemblies are cut before moving on to the -103 assembly.

Removed Settings: Retract

Because TigerStop software provides more consistent material retraction workflows the Retract features have been removed from the STRATUS Workstation. Please see Stratus Workstation | MaterialRetractionswithTigerStop for a step-by-step guide on how to set this up.

Added to Cut Lists a Group by Area Option

Added to Packages > Cut Lists a Group by Area option.

  1. Unchecked (Default) - When unchecked, and the Generate Cut Lists button is clicked, the Area field for each cut list will be empty.

  2. Checked - When checked and the Generate Cut Lists button is clicked, a separate list will be generated for parts having the same material and size, but different areas.

    1. The resulting cut lists inside of STRATUS Workstation will not utilize the Area but the cut lists can be sent separately as needed.

Added Properties for BOM Reporting

Added the following report properties where the report Item Type = BOM. These properties also display on the part’s properties.

  1. STRATUS.Part.BOMDescription

  2. STRATUS.Part.ProjectId

Under Admin > Company > Part Templates > BOM Mappings, the Description property in the Company BOM Line Item Mappings section can be overridden and will display in the STRATUS.Part.BOMDescription property. For example:

  1. Below is the BOM Mappings tab for a Butterfly Valve. The Description can be overridden with a manual or a property value.

  2. As a result, in the part’s properties, the overridden Description will display in the STRATUS.Part.BOMDescription property.

    1. The STRATUS.Part.ProjectId also displays in the part’s properties.

  3. After adding the STRATUS.Part.BOMDescription property and/or the STRATUS.Part.ProjectId to a report where Item Type = BOM, the BOM report will display the property.

Added Shipping Address Selector to BOM Reports

To select and display shipping address information on a BOM report:

  1. To add Shipping Address information to a project, under Projects, select the project, click the Shipping Addresses tab, and then add one or more Shipping Addresses.

  2. To add the Shipping Address Report Fields to a template, under Admin > Company > Templates, create or select a BOM template where the Template Type is Bill of Materials and then add Report Fields that include .ShippingAddress.

  3. To select a shipping address for a BOM report, go a Package’s BOM tab, select a report and click the download button. The Select Report Options dialog similar to the following will display. Select the Shipping Address.

  4. The report will display the .ShippingAddress report fields as configured on the template.

Updated Packages BOM

Updated Packages BOM by renaming the Exclude column to Reportable and the Exclude Items Visible button to Show Reportable.

  1. Reportable

    1. Checked (default) - When checked, the line item will display in a BOM Report.

    2. Unchecked - When unchecked, the line item will not display in a BOM Report.

  2. Show Reportable

    1. Checked - When checked, only line items whose Reportable checkbox have been checked will display in the table.

    2. Unchecked (default) - When unchecked, all line items will display in the table.

Improved STRATUS Sheet Mouse Wheel Zoom

Improved STRATUS Sheet Mouse Wheel Zoom including:

  • Zoom in/out with wheel uses smaller % increment than zoom in/out buttons on page to feel smoother

  • Zoom about current cursor location on screen

  • Pan using the pan button, Shift-middle mouse button, middle mouse button, or 2-finger pinch zoom on tablets

  • Use the Extents button to reset the sheet

Improved Packages Dashboard Search

Improved the Packages Dashboard Search feature so that packages that may be located at the bottom of the table can be immediately displayed. For example:

  1. The package below is at the bottom of the Packages Dashboard. Previously, a user would need to wait for the Packages Dashboard load process to display the package before it could be reviewed or edited.

  2. With the updated Search feature, a user can search for “123-FP--0002” or characters included in the package or model name like “123”. While the Packages Dashboard table is still loading, the packages that meet the search criteria will display and load data.
