Improved Performance of Models > Viewer > Filters > Company

Improvements have been made to speed up the time it takes for Company Filters to display, especially for larger models. Keep in mind that before Company Filters loads, every Filter where Models Viewer is checked must evaluate every part and its properties in the model.

Improved Performace of Packages > Schedule

Improved the load performance of the Packages > Schedule page.

Improved Alphabetic Numbering Rule

Improved the Numbering Rule display when Item Number Format = Alphabetic. For example:

  1. When the Numbering Rule setting Item Number Format = Alphabetic

  2. When Renumber All Item Numbers is clicked, renumber will start at A, then after Z, AB will be the next item number. This method provides for tens of thousands of unique Alphabetic values but restraining the number of letters used for a part.

  3. Previously, item numbers could get to be unusable.

Added BIMAreaShortName Property

The BIMAreaShortName property provides the ability to report the STRATUS area name without the path from parts, assemblies, and packages. For example, if a part’s STRATUS.Part.BIMArea value = “GTP Electrical (Internal)\Underground\East Sector”, but only “East Sector” should display, use the BIMAreaShortName Property.

  • For Parts, use the property STRATUS.Part.BIMAreaShortName

    • Accessible in:

      • Filters

      • part item type reports

      • Fields

  • For Assemblies, use the property STRATUS.Assembly.BIMAreaShortName

    • Accessible in:

      • Filters

      • Package Details item type reports

      • Fields

      • Report Fields on Assemblies Viewer template types

  • For Packages, use the property STRATUS.Package.BIMAreaShortName

    • Accessible in:

      • Filters

      • Package item type reports

      • Fields

      • Report Fields on Package Details template types

Updated Delete Item Numbers and Renumber All Item Numbers

In the Models and Packages Viewers, a prompt was added when the Delete All Item Numbers and Tags button is clicked.

  1. Click the Delete All Item Numbers and Tags button. The following prompt displays: “This command will clear all part number values for parts in this (assembly, package or model), provided the current tracking status for each part allows it. All tags will be removed. Do you want to continue?”

    1. By clicking OK, the Number values will be cleared if the tracking status for the part allows under Admin > Company > Tracking Statuses > Can Number. Tags will be deleted regardless.

    2. If the Renumber All Item Numbers button is clicked, the cleared parts not matching the Number Scheme part filter under Admin > Company > Naming and Numbering > Numbering Scheme, will not receive an item number tag.

Updated STRATUS Sheet Dimensioning in Relation to Filters

Updated STRATUS Sheet dimensioning when filters are applied to the 3D view. A good example is when a user has dimensioned an assembly and then applies a filter that filters out parts that included the dimension node. The most common case for this was when a user had filtered welds out of the view but had pulled a dimension to the connector in the weld instead of for the connecting pipe. In this case, it would have removed the dimension from the sheet generation. Now, as long as one connector node is still visible the dimension will persist. For example:

  1. Dimension an assembly.

  2. Check a filter that will remove one or more parts associated with the node of a dimension.

    1. Notice that the 1’4-3/16” dimension disappears since the part/node at both ends of the dimension line was filtered out.

    2. Notice that the 45' 9-1/16” dimension still displays since only a part/node at one end of the dimension line was filtered out.

    3. Notice that the 21’0” dimension still displays since the part/node at both ends of the dimension line was not filtered out.

  3. As a result, when the 3D viewer or the STRATUS Sheet is filtered and at least one part/node on a dimension line displays, the dimensions will display in the 3D viewer and in the STRATUS Sheet.

  4. STRATUS Sheet Note: In this example, under Admin > Company > View Styles, the View Style used below sets the Dimension Visibility Filter to the same filter as was applied above. As a result, the STRATUS Sheet displays the correct dimensions.
