Viewer Preferences

Each user can set their Account Viewer Preferences to either manually apply or automatically apply the last session’s settings (STRATUS Filters and Forge settings). By default, all options are unchecked. For more information on how these settings impact the viewers (Models, Packages, Assemblies), see the Filter Loading from Account Settings > Viewer Preferences article for more information.

Configure Account Viewer Preferences

Each user can set their account Viewer Preferences to either manually apply or automatically apply the last session’s settings. By default, all options are unchecked (manually apply in the viewer). To change settings:

  1. Click the Badge (upper right corner) > Account Settings > Profile > Viewer Preferences.

  2. The Save Autodesk viewer settings (all viewers) checkbox:

    1. Checked - When checked, the last Autodesk Forge session settings will be loaded. This setting applies globally to all viewers (Models, Packages, Assemblies) and all models.

    2. Unchecked - When unchecked, Autodesk Forge settings will reset after each session.

  3. The Apply last session filter settings checkboxes:

    1. Models Viewer - Each model has individual filter settings per user.

      1. Checked - When checked the user’s last Model Viewer > Filter settings will be automatically loaded when the model opens in the Models Viewer. See the Automatically Load Last Session Filter Settings section for more information. In addition, it will take more time for models to load.

      2. Unchecked - When unchecked, the user’s filter settings will still be stored, however, the filter settings will not be automatically loaded. See the Manually Load Last Session Filter Settings section for more information. In addition, it will take less time for models to load than if the option is checked.

    2. Packages Viewer - Each model has individual filter settings per user. The Package filter settings apply to all the model’s packages.

      1. Checked - When checked the last Packages > Filter settings will be automatically loaded when a package is opened in the Packages Viewer. See the Automatically Load Last Session Filter Settings section for more information.

      2. Unchecked - When unchecked, the user’s filter settings will still be stored, however, the filter settings will not be automatically loaded. See the Manually Load Last Session Filter Settings section for more information.

    3. Assemblies Viewer (References filter only) - The Assemblies Viewer checkbox only applies to the References filter. See the References and Clip Settings section of the Filters article for more information.

      1. Checked - When checked the last Filters > References setting will be stored.

      2. Unchecked - When unchecked, Filters > References will not be stored.

    4. Click Save if any changes are made.

Package Dashboard Preferences

When checked, the Allow Package Dashboard Filter Restore option tells STRATUS to restore the user’s filter options on the Packages > Dashboard after a page refresh or in their next session. We call it sticky filters.
