Added Actions > Containers to Viewers
Added to the Models Viewer and Packages Viewer the Actions > Containers dialog to provide the ability to add/remove items (parts, assemblies, and packages) to/from a container.
Assign Permission
To assign permission to use this feature:
Go to Admin > Company > Project Roles.
Models Viewer - Select Models > Viewer > Actions > Containers
Packages Viewer - Select Packages > Details > Viewer > Toolbar > Actions > Containers
Select or Filter Items in the Viewer
Items (Parts, Assemblies, Packages) can either be selected (highlighted in the viewer) or filtered (visible) in the viewer.
To select (highlight in the viewer) a part, assembly, or package, use Window Select or Select Connected tool, or via a Click, Ctrl-Click, and Shift-Click.
To filter (not highlighted but visible in the viewer) a part, assembly, or package in the viewer, use a STRATUS filter.
The Add Assemblies checkbox, when checked, provides a way to select a part within an assembly and add the entire assembly to the Container.
To select items in the viewer to Add/Remove To/From a Container:
Selected - Select any item(s). Actions buttons remain disabled until a Container is selected.
Once a Container is selected all 4 action buttons will be enabled (Ex. Add Selected, Remove Selected, Add Visible, Remove Visible). Note: Add/Remove Visible buttons can still be used, but these commands are not limited to the selected (highlighted) parts.
Filter Visible - When a filter is used and no items are selected in the viewer. The filtered items are visible.
Once a Container is selected only the Add Visible and Remove Visible buttons are enabled since no parts have been selected.
Select Items in Container
When an item is selected that is already in a container, the Container Type and Container name will display.
If multiple parts are selected and belong to different containers, only the container of the first selected item will be displayed.
Actions > Containers Summary
Below are definitions of the Action > Containers options:
Container Type - To filter containers, select Container Type.
Container (Required) - A list of all company containers displays and can be filtered by the selected Container Type. Select a container to add/remove items.
Add Assemblies (checkbox)
Checked (default) - When Add Assemblies is checked, if any part selected in the viewer is also included in an assembly, then the entire assembly will be added to the container when any of the Add/Remove buttons are clicked.
Unchecked - When Add Assemblies is unchecked, individual assembly parts can be added to a container.
In this example, the selected part is also included in an assembly and Add Selected is clicked.
Even though the part belongs to an assembly, only the selected part will be added to the container when Add/Remove Selected buttons are clicked.
Add Selected - After selecting items in the viewer, click the Add Selected button to add the selected items to the selected container. Visible items not selected will not be added.
Remove Selected - After selecting items in the viewer, click the Remove Selected button to remove the selected items from the selected container. Visible items not selected will not be removed.
Add Visible - Any part that displays in the viewer is Visible. Note: If the Hidden Parts Shaded tool is checked, those hidden parts are not considered visible. Use filters as needed to isolate items to be added to a container. Click the Add Visible button to add the items to the selected container.
Note: Only the visible parts of a package will be added to the container, not the entire package if it is not visible or included in the View.
Remove Visible - Any part that displays in the viewer is Visible. Note: If the Hidden Parts Shaded tool is checked, those hidden parts are not considered visible. Use filters as needed to isolate items to be removed from a container. Click the Remove Visible button to remove the items from the selected container.
Note: Only the visible parts of a package will be removed, not the entire package if it is not visible or included in the View.
Example: Add Selected Items to a Container
Select items to be added to a container. All Actions buttons remain disabled until a Container is selected.
Select a Container (Required) - A list of all company containers displays and can be filtered by the selected Container Type. Once a container has been selected, the action buttons will be enabled.
Click the Add Selected button. The selected items will be added to the container under Containers > Assign. A Tracking row will be automatically added and include the Comment “STRATUS Added”.
Example: Add Visible Items to a Container
Filter to items to be added to a container. In this example, the filtered package includes an assembly and loose parts. All Actions buttons remain disabled until a Container is selected.
Select a Container (Required) - A list of all company containers displays and can be filtered by the selected Container Type. Once a container has been selected, the Actions buttons will be enabled. Since no items were selected, the Add Selected button remains disabled.
Click the Add Visible button. The visible items will be added to the container under Containers > Assign. A Tracking row will be automatically added and include the Comment “STRATUS Added”.
By expanding the Package, the 2 assemblies and loose parts display.
Example: Remove Selected
Parts, assemblies, and packages can be removed from a container individually or as a whole.
Using the previous Example: Add Visible Items to a Container, select items to be removed from a container. In this example, all loose parts were selected.
Remove Selected - After selecting items in the viewer, click the Remove Selected button to remove the items from the selected container. Only the assemblies remain.
Example: Remove Visible
Using the previous Example: Add Visible Items to a Container, filter to an assembly to be removed from a container and selected the Container. Note: When Hidden Parts Shaded is checked, the hidden parts are not considered “Visible” so using the Add/Remove Visible button will not impact those items.
Under Containers > Assign, the visible assembly has been removed.
Example: Move Items From Selected Container
If a selected item is already included in a Container and the user attempts to add it to a different container, a “Move items from selected container?” message similar to the following will display where the user can Cancel or Move the parts from one container to the other.
Added the Beta Linear Dimensioning Tool
Replaced the Linear Dimensioning Tool with an updated tool that has been in beta testing since mid-2023.
Key Features:
The tool will only measure one dimension at a time.
To switch between the axis of measurements press Tab.
If an axis of measurement does not change (i.e., a 0” measurement) that axis will be skipped.
The leaders will be placed off the first snap point you select and the kick back line will be drawn to the second snap point selected to provide a visual representation of what the measurement line is representing.
(1) Leader
(2) Measurement Line
(3) Kick Back Line
Right-click will cancel your action.
Colors
Blue – Measures Up and Down
Green – Measures Front and Back
Red – Measures Left and Right
These colors will update with any UCS adjustments (more on UCS below)
UCS:
Some models or portions of models may not be perpendicular to the view, this is where the UCS comes in to play. The UCS will allow you to define a new Coordinate System to align Left/Right/Front/Back. Up and down will always remain the same.
To set a UCS:
Open Dimension Settings
Select “Custom”
If you know the angle in which your model is rotated you can type it in, otherwise select the pencil
Once the pencil is selected you will want to identify a straight piece of content that follows the angle you want adjust to.
Once you have identified the piece of content you are going to use select the “Left” Center and then the “Right” Center
We recommend always using the Center snap point (Circle with a dot) to specify your angle to ensure you are getting the correct angle.
When the Linear Dimensioning tool is active you can use the following buttons:
Global will disable your UCS and return you to default behavior.
Custom will enable your UCS
Top will bring you to a top view rotated to match your custom UCS.
This can be used to verify you have set your UCS correctly and get an easier angle to work with when placing your dimensions.
Colors will update with the new UCS as well.
Linear Dimension Button will update when a UCS is active
Added Method to Speed Up Dashboard Displays
Added a new method to improve the usability of report driven dashboards like the Packages and Assemblies Dashboards. You’ll notice that skeleton placeholders (see screen shot below) only display on an initial page load. At that point, report data is cached. On subsequent page loads, the cached report data will load making the dashboard immediately usable. Then, behind the scenes as report calculations are made, report data will be replaced as needed. Once the message (Ex. Loading 0/148 entries reaches 148/148), you’ll know all the data has been updated.

Updated Admin > Part Templates
Updated Admin > Company > Part Templates when multiple are selected:
When a single Part Template is selected, the existing tabs (Ex. Properties, Cut List Mappings, and BOM Mappings) display. No changes.
When multiple Part Templates are selected the following tabs display. In the first example, All Properties is selected. In the second example, Shared Properties is selected.
All Properties - When the All Properties tab is selected, all properties from all selected Part Templates will display. Edits to any Property will be applied to all selected Part Templates.
Shared Properties - When the Shared Properties tab is selected, only those Properties that are common between the selected Part Templates will display. Edits to any Property will be applied to all selected Part Templates.
Cut List Mappings - The Cut List Mappings tab is disabled since mappings cannot be made to multiple Part Templates at once.
BOM Mappings - The BOM Mappings tab is disabled since mappings cannot be made to multiple Part Templates at once.
Templates - When multiple Part Templates have been selected, the Templates column displays the number of Part Templates the property can be found in. ALL will display when the property is in all selected templates. In this example, the ALL link is selected and the property popup displays the Part Templates that use the property. Each Part Template includes a link that will open in a separate tab. The Part Template names can be exported using the CSV | Excel buttons.
Updated the Packages > BOM > Save Manual Overrides Setting
Updated the Packages > BOM by moving the Save Manual Overrides checkbox to a checkable button setting in the BOM header.
Previously, the Save Manual Overrides checkbox displayed after the Generate BOM button was clicked within the Generate New BOM dialog. With this change, the Generate New BOM dialog no longer displays, rather, the BOM is regenerated.
The Save Manual Overrides checkbox has been moved to the BOM tab header and only applies to the following data fields: QTY, Unit of Measure, Size, Description, Manufacturer, Material, Product Code, and Additional Info.
In the example below, a manual override does not exist as no data row cells have a question mark icon.
After a manual override has been made (Ex. Additional Info changed to Manual Override), the BOM data refreshes and the question mark icon displays within the overridden cell and hover text informs the user the Original value: Empty.
Unchecked Save Manual Overrides - When the Save Manual Overrides checkbox is unchecked and the Generate BOM button is clicked, the text “Manual Override” within the Additional Info cell will return to it’s original value which was Empty.
Checked Save Manual Overrides - When the Save Manual Overrides checkbox is checked and the Generate BOM button is clicked, the text “Manual Override” within the Additional Info cell will be retained.
Updated STRATUS Workstation Timeout
Updated the STRATUS Workstation timeout from 15 seconds to 60 seconds.
Updated STRATUS Workstation Filtering
Updated the STRATUS Workstation Filter Rows option to be very fast when selecting and deselecting options.
Updated Manage Materials Checkbox Selection
Under Admin > Company > Stations > Edit Materials, updated Manage Materials checkbox selection to align with other STRATUS checkboxes. In summary, the parent material checkbox should have 3 states: All selected, partial selected and no sub material selected. With this change:
When a “Parent” Material is selected, all Material Fields will also be selected.
When any of the Material Field is unselected, the “Parent” Material checkbox will change to a minus symbol.
Updated Sign In to Station Messaging
Updated the messaging that occurs when using the Sign In to Station feature.
Click Shops.
Click the Sign in button associated with any Station.
The Sign in button will change to Sign out.
The users badge will change to the configured station image.
Under Admin > Company > Stations, for the station the user Signed into, an information icon will display informing the Admin that user is “Logged in to this station from Shops.”
