Added Revit Families with Shared Nested Components Upgrade
Refined Selection and Functionality
We now support the complexities of Revit families, especially around the usage of an empty host family that contains no native geometry but does contain shared nested families. The selection of these families more naturally follows your expectations from family selection in Revit. You can hover over a host family and select it or use the TAB key to drill into nested families. This also means that you no longer need to place native geometry in host families for them to appear in places like company filters or select them.
The Assembly Selection viewer setting overrides the nested family selection feature. You may find that you cannot select host families when this setting is enabled and that you would only be able to select the first shared nested family that contains native geometry in it.
STRATUS.Part.Family Properties
We have added 4 new STRATUS.Part.Family properties to help you filter through and manage shared nested families that come from Revit.
STRATUS.Part.FamilyChildren
Reports the family name(s) of the shared nested child families to the parent family as a semicolon-separated list
STRATUS.Part.FamilyHost
Reports the family name of the highest-level host family
STRATUS.Part.FamilyLevel
An integer that indicates the level of family nesting where
0 = Root/Host
1 = Nested 1 level deep from the host family
n = Nested n levels deep from the host family
STRATUS.Part.FamilyParent
Is reported in all child model elements (families)
Reports the family name of the parent (n-1) family
Removed Family Selection Setting from Viewers
We have removed the Family Selection setting from the viewers since the upgrades above make it obsolete.
Added ZPL Label Preview During Edit
Added the ability to preview ZPL labels during the edit process. With this feature, users won’t have to copy/paste their ZPL into a separate app to preview it.
To edit a label under either:
Admin > Company > Tools > Label Template
Admin > Company > Report > Label Template
Click the Edit Label Template button. A “Label Template for” dialog similar to the following will display.
Print Density and Label Size should match the target printer's settings in order to the preview how the printed label will display.
Print Density - Select the dpi to be used for the label.
Label Size - Enter the dimensions of the target label.
Edit dialog (left) - Enter the ZPL into the edit dialog.
Preview dialog (right) - Edit will immediately display in the preview panel.
When done editing the ZPL, click Save.
Added Upload Multiple Attachments
Added the ability to upload multiple attachments. To upload multiple attachments:
Click the Add Attachments button.
In the File Upload dialog, select multiple files either using Ctrl + Click or Shift + Click. When done click open.
If none of the selected files have been previously uploaded, then all files will upload.
If any of the selected files have been previously uploaded, then a Replace dialog, similar to the following, will display.
File Name - Enter a File Name. The file will be uploaded with the new name.
Replace - Replaces the existing file with the new file.
Use - Uses a different file name so that both files exist in Stratus.
Added Cross-Domain (Guest) Licensing
Some Stratus customers do business with other Stratus customers. The current problem is that each unique user that is added to a company consumes a license. The cross-domain (guest) license solution enables company A to have a fully provisioned user, which can subsequently be added to company B without consuming a license from company B. There are no Project Role permission restrictions for guest users.
A user is added to company A and consumes a Full license.
To use a guest license at company B, the user is added by company B using the New User button under Admin > Company > Users using the user’s company A email address. A Guest license is consumed.
The company B Admin will set the guest user’s Company Role and Project Role.
If the company A Administrator attempts to change a Full licensed user’s Status to Disabled who is also a “guest” at company B, a warning message similar to the following will display:
Keep User - Click Keep User to retain the the user at company A and consume a Full license.
Disable User in All Companies - Click Disable User in All Companies to disable the user from company A as well as any company where that user is a Guest. The user’s Full license will be recouped by company A. The guest user will no longer have access to Stratus at company B. If the user needs to use Stratus at company B, company B will have to add the user with the user’s company B email address and consume a Full license.
Company A can change the Status of a user’s Full license to Disabled and this user might be a Guest of company B.
As a result of company A disabling the Full license of the Guest, the Guest’s license is disabled in company B.
If the company B Administrator attempts to change a Guest’s Status from Disabled to Active, the following message will display.
Added Fabrication Part Properties
Added Fabrication part properties during publish for the following:
Material Group
Service Group
Specification Group
Insulation Specification Group
Updated Project Roles
Edit Tracking Statuses on Assemblies Dashboard
Added a Project Role to Edit Tracking Statuses under Assemblies > Dashboard. Previously, when a user’s Project Role did not include Edit Assembly Properties, they could not edit tracking statuses. These project roles have been separated.
Edit BOM Mappings
Added a Project Role to Edit BOM Mappings under Packages > Details > Bill of Materials. As a result, the BOM Mappings column will only display a tooltip naming the Part Template.
Hide Default Part Reports
Default Part Reports will be hidden when the Reports > Part > [Default Report] is unchecked.
Updated Pipe Cuts Ends
Under Admin > Company > Pipe Cuts, changed the section heading from Connectors to Ends and updated the functionality to better support the various ways customers model and ultimately send their modeled content through multi-axis cutting machines. The primary changes is the separation of Bevel and Plain End configurations into separate rows which will be done automatically. Note: An entry for a size without a connector name can be created which will be used when there is no match on connector name to any of the other entries for the particular size (or size range). If no entry with empty connector name exists, the first pipe cut end matched on size alone (and alphabetized by connector name) will be used for speed and root gap lookup.
Each row has the following properties:
Updated MAJ Publish from CAMduct to Preserve STRATUS.Part.QRCode
Updated publish to preserve the original STRATUS.Part.QRCode when a CAMduct MAJ file is published from Company A first, and then from Company B. With this change a user is able to scan the QR code within the context of either Company A or Company B and get the part scan page to appear for the part.
Updated API with Throttling Duplicate Requests
Updated API with throttling duplicate requests for reports by disallowing callers from requesting the same things (Ex. Same Package ID and Report ID) simultaneously. When duplicate calls are detected, a 429 Error: Too Many Requests will result with a message similar to the following: "API is being throttled due to excessive usage. Please try again in 1799 seconds."

Fixed Issue Saving New BOM Mapping
Fixed an issue saving a New BOM Mapping under Admin > Company > Part Templates > BOM Mappings.
Fixed Issue Adding Assembly to Container in Models Viewer
