Internet

A stable, reliable, high-performing internet connection with adequate bandwidth and speed is perhaps the single most important key to success.

Shop Computers

Desktop/Laptop Minimum

  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit (Required for the STRATUS Workstation and STRATUS Print)
  • Single or Multi-Core Intel® Pentium®, Xeon®, or i-Series processor or AMD® equivalent with SSE2 technology. The highest affordable CPU speed rating is recommended.
  • 16 GB RAM for AutoCAD and 32 GB RAM for Revit (though more is better)
  • 1280 x 1024 with true color (graphics card upgrade with additional RAM is better)
  • 5 GB free disk space
  • For desktop AutoCAD or Revit addins, follow Autodesk recommendations

Tablet Minimum

  • Surface Pro 4 or newer (standard with TigerStop) and recommended over iPads
  • Apple iPad or iPad Pro
  • 4 GB RAM (more is better)
  • Stylus Pen and keyboard (recommended)

Zebra Label Printer

Scanner

To scan a tracking code, the scanner must be integrated with a computer.

  • NETUM Wireless Barcode Scanner 2.4GHz (need Bluetooth Receiver)

Wi-Fi

  • High-speed internet with bandwidth for multiple simultaneous connections is very important.
  • Business-class internet and WIFI is required for shops.
  • Wireless must provide adequate coverage to all areas of the facility.

BIM 360 Requirements

  • GTP is an Autodesk reseller and can provide BIM 360 Docs licensing (to U.S. only).
  • While BIM 360 user accounts can be created for a shared login such as shopworker@contractor.com, this does limit the level of detail provided in tracking logs, as this user will be associated currently with tracking log entries.
  • We recommend individual user accounts for all modelers, project managers, and foremen.  Shared accounts are acceptable for most shop and field workers.
  • Shop computers connected to cutting machines (Ex. TigerStop) should each have their own account.
