Q:     How can I embed a STRATUS QR Code on CAMduct labels.

A:     To print CAMduct labels with a STRATUS QR code:

  1. In STRATUS under Admin > Company > Settings, enter a custom field name for the Property to Map to QR Code setting under the Common to AutoCAD and Revit section (Ex. QR Code).

  2. In Fabrication, add a custom data field, with the exact same spelling as the STRATUS Property to Map to QR Code, under Edit Main Database > Takeoff > Custom Data (Ex. QR Code).

  3. In CAMduct, under File > Print Layout > Labels, you can create a new label. In this example, click/drag the Item Custom Data Field onto your label.

  4. In CAMduct, under Object Properties:
    1. Set the Data to the name / index # for the Custom Data field created in Fabrication above (Ex. QR Code).

    2. Set Font to QR Code.

  5. A QR code example will display on the label.

  6. Before you can preview the QR code, open a CADmep drawing that has been published to STRATUS. Click the Import button on the GTP STRATUS add-in to assign the STRATUS Property to Map to QR Code to each part’s CADmep Custom Data field defined above.

  7. Go to the CAMduct Print Preview and select the label.  A preview similar to the following will display. The QR Code is linked to STRATUS. You can scan the QR code to update tracking status or view a STRATUS landing page will display where you can view the part in the model.

Q:     How can I use the MAJ directly from STRATUS?

A:     The QR Code is written to the External  Link field on the Item at position 1 when the MAJ is generated. Using this requires setting up the Label in a slightly different way where the External Link field is used and set the Data Index to 1.
