The Packages > Viewer tab displays a package. A package displays when a users clicks a link from another page like a dashboard or by using the package filter tools (Ex. Project, Model, Package). The tab includes a 3D viewer section and the STRATUS Toolbar, and a detailed content section (Items, BOM, Cut Lists, STRATUS Sheet, Properties, etc.). In addition, the tab includes the ability to update Status, Division, Comment, and Hours.

Open Package in the Packages > Viewer
There are several ways to open a package in the Packages > Viewer.
Note: STRATUS will recognize when users are working with a package and store the last opened or refreshed package as the active package. As a result, when the user clicks a link to an assembly, the active package will carryover and be selected in the Package drop-down. Otherwise, the Package will be set to Unspecified.
Open Package from the Models Viewer
In the Models > Viewer the Project and Model are selected.

In the Packages > Dashboard, the Project and Model or ALL MODELS is selected. Note: In this example, there are not additional filters for Division, Status, or Category.

Open Package from Package Drop-down
In the Packages > Viewer with a Package already open, the Package control can be used to open a different package within the same Project and Model. Do one of the following:
Click the Package drop-down and select a different package.

Open Package from the Containers > Dashboard
Once a package has been added to a container, it will display under Containers > Dashboard.
From the Containers > Dashboard, expand a Container to which a package has been added.

The package will display with the Project, Model, and Package selected. In Package's Details, if Items is selected as the default tab, then any of the package's Assemblies and Parts will display.

Viewer Filtering
Once a package is opened, other packages can be located using the filtering options including drop-downs for Project, Model, View, and Package.
Project
To locate a package in a different Project:
Click the Project drop-down and either select the project or search for the project and the Packages > Dashboard will display.

Model
To locate a package in a different Model within the Project:
Click the Model drop-down and either select the model or search for the model. Image Modified
When switching to a new model, STRATUS will not know which package you intend to open. Therefore, the first package (alphabetic) will be selected. If the model does not have a package, the Packages > Dashboard will display.
View
By default, all published models include a 3D view. The person who publishes the model can select additional views including 2D views. 90% of the time the default view in the Packages Viewer will display the needed information.
In In some cases, like risers, the default view may not include all of the model parts and will need to be overridden. Note: Overriding the View will set the newly selected view as the default for all users. In addition, see below for how to attach one or more PDF files and select any of them as the View.
To change the View in the 3D viewer:
Project Admins Only - Only Project Admins can change and override a default view.
Users who are not a Project Admin under Admin > Project > Team do not have
a View
option in the Packages Viewer. Below is an example where the View drop-down does not display.

Selected View Does Not Contain All Parts - A Project Admin may select a View that does not contain all the parts in the Package, a warning icon will display "View does not contain all parts in the Packages".
In this example, the Top half view displays the full dimensions of the pipe but does not display the bottom pipe parts because they were not included in this Revit view.
Image ModifiedTo resolve the issue, a Project Admin will need to override the default view.
If the Project Admin selects a view that does not include all of the model parts included in the Package, the following message will display and the Project Admin will need to select a different view.

Once the Project Admin selects a view that contains all of the model parts included in the Package, the following prompt will display. Note: Making a View change will set the selected view as the default view.
Image ModifiedAfter a Project Admin selects a view (Ex. Full model) that includes all of the model parts for the Package, anyone who opens the Package will see the selected view.

To change the view to a 2D View:
The model must be published with a 2D view.Image Modified
Select the 2D View and Click Ok when prompted. The 2D View will display. The following options available in a 3D View will be removed: STRATUS Toolbar, Search, Cube, Autodesk Toolbar features (Orbit, Model Browser, etc.).

Package Viewer - View PDF Attachment
The Package's Viewer provides the ability to view a PDF attachment. This feature is useful for non-modeled packages. To use this feature:
Under the Package’s > Attachments tab, attach one or more PDFs.
Under the Package’s > Viewer tab, the PDF(s) will display. Use the View drop-down to view different PDF’s.Image Modified

3D Viewer - Expand / Collapse
By default, the Packages > Viewer tab displays the 3D Viewer (left) and the package’s detailed content tabs (right). Clicking the expand to full screen button in either section will change both sections to full screen, one stacked on top of each other.
Below are the mechanics of the Package Viewer expand / collapse feature:

Click a part or assembly in the viewer and it will be selected in the in the package’s detailed contents Items tab, or check an Assembly or Part in the Items tab and will be selected in the 3D Viewer.

Image ModifiedClick the collapse button in either the 3D Viewer or package’s detailed content tabs - The default view will display. In this example, when the 3D View was expanded to full screen the user zoomed in on the assembly, added item numbers, and then collapsing the panels retained both.

Click the Filters option to further filter the package. Note: Each user’s last set of filters per model are stored. Filters for the Models Viewer are separate from the Packages Viewer filters. When the Packages Viewer is opened, a user can either manually (default) or automatically load their last session filter settings which is documented in the Models Viewer article. Grid Offset Measurement

Click the Grid Offset Measurement tool for a digital tape measure and then select an item in the viewer. The tool will display the item’s dimension offset from grid line intersections. You can pick which level the tool is referencing and select which grid to measure in the drop-down. The distance to the X, Y grid line will display for point A and point B.

Package Tracking
The following tracking data can be entered and applied at anytime and any number of fields (Ex. Status, Hours, and Cost Type) can be updated.
Status
Changing the Status of a package will also change the status of all parts and assemblies included in the package.
To change the Status of a package in the Packages > Viewer:
Do one of the following:
Click the Status drop-down.
Image ModifiedEnter text to search for status and/or select a status.
Click the Next Tracking Status button. The next status in sequence order will be selected.
Once selected, click the Apply button to save. The status of the package and all parts and assemblies included in the package will be updated.
A package's Status can be changed on the following pages:

Division
A A Division is is a name for a department, person, or group that processes work packages and is specific to your company’s workflow, and is used to filter data tables. The future vision for Divisions is to use divisions as discreet business units that most closely align to a single cost code or group of cost codes. A Division is required when defining a Station. See the Project Divisions (Admin) article for information about Project-level Divisions.
To change the Division of a package in the Packages > Viewer:
Click the Division drop-down and either select the division or search for the division.

Division Not Assigned to the Package
If a Division has not been assigned to a package the Division will not display. For example:
When this package was changed to the Issued tracking status, a Division was not assigned. As a result, the Division display is blank inside the brackets.

If a Division is not selectable, it means that a Division has not been checked under the Tracking Status Group on the Admin > Company > Tracking Statuses page. Check a checkbox and then refresh the Tracking tab to make a Division selectable.

Comment
Comments can be added to a package in the following ways:
Manually added to a package on the Packages > Viewer or Scan page.
Automatically when the package is added to a Container. Comments display on the package's Tracking tab. The source container name (Ex. Truck) will be included in the tracking log entry comment.

Hours
Hours entered and applied to a package will used for Actual Hours reporting. By default, Actual Hours display on the Packages > Dashboard > Default report. Hours can also be extracted into reports using the following:

To add hours to a package in the Packages > Viewer:
Open the package.
Enter a numeric value in the Hours field.

Cost Type
Cost Type can be added to a package:
Click the Cost Type drop-down and either select the Cost
Type or search for the Cost Type.

Image ModifiedContainer - When a package is added to a container, Cost Type can be entered in the Tracking section.
Capture Image
An image using the devices camera can be added to the package.
To Capture an Image:
Click the Capture Image button. The device must have a camera.
All the camera to be used.
Click Capture Image.
Once the image is captured, click the Apply button. The Confirm File Name dialog will display.

Accept or edit the File Name and click Ok.
The image is saved an will be accessible in the Attachments and Tracking tabs.

An Attachment can be added to a package in several locations. The process is the same for all.
