  2. When switching to a new model, Stratus will not know which package you intend to open. Therefore, the first package (alphabetic) will be selected. If the model does not have a package, the Packages > Dashboard will display.

View

The VDC department determines which 3D views, 2D views, and Revit sheets will be included in Stratus when the model is published. When a package is created, Stratus automatically selects the most optimized view. If the published Revit View included linked files, such as architectural or structural models, they can be toggled on and off as needed using the Show Backgrounds setting.

3D View

In the Packages Viewer, when a 3D View is selected the tools below are available. A 2D View includes some of these tools.

  • Stratus Toolbar tools - See the Stratus Toolbar section in the Models Viewer article for more information.

  • Element Search - See the Viewer Settings and Search article for more information.

  • Settings - Settings (Ex. Hidden Parts Shaded, Show Backgrounds) impact elements that display in the viewer. Click the gear icon to access viewer Settings. See the Viewer Settings and Search article for more information.

Changing the 3D View

Under the View drop-down, different published views (Ex. 3D views, 2D views, and Revit sheets) can be selected.
Note: For optimal performance, changing views is not recommended as Stratus automatically selects the most optimized view.

To change to a different 3D View:

  1. With a 3D View selected, after a different 3D View is selected, a prompt similar to the following will display that reads: “This will set the default view for the package to ‘the selected View name’. Do you wish to continue?”

    1. Note: This prompt does not display when a 2D View is selected.

  2. By clicking OK, the selected view will be the new default view for ALL users in ALL viewers (Models, Packages, Assemblies).
