The Package's Viewer tab can work in conjunction with the Package's Report tab. The Package's Viewer tab displays the filtered package in a viewer that includes the STRATUS toolbar. Using the STRATUS toolbar, you can enhance the Isometric view of the package to include other features like assembly names, spool names, item numbers, dimensioning, and Display Grid. The enhancements made in the Viewer will be included when the Package's Report tab is clicked. From the Report tab, the report can be printed by generating a PDF.
Viewer Settings
Hidden Parts Shaded
To display hidden parts, click the Hidden Parts Shaded toggle.
Assembly Selection
With the Assembly Selection toggle checked, when a part is selected that is included in an Assembly, the entire Assembly will be selected.
With the Assembly Selection toggle unchecked, when a part is selected that is included in an Assembly, only the part will be selected.
When used in conjunction with the Tab key, the Assembly Selection toggle actions change, giving users the flexibility to use the Tab key to override either the Select assembly or the Select Part action depending on whether Assembly Selection is checked or not.
Pressing the TAB key has multiple functions on a part vs. an assembly selection in the model viewer. Below are 2 cases:
- Check the Assembly Selection option:
- Hover over an assembly and click. The whole assembly is selected.
- Hover over an assembly, press the TAB key, and click. The individual part you are hovering over is selected.
- Uncheck the Assembly Selection option:
- Hover over a part and click. The part you are hovering over is selected.
- Hover over a part, press the TAB key, and click. The assembly that the part is contained in is selected.
Multiple Part Selection
The Multiple Part Selection toggle is used primarily by tablet and iPad users who can't use the Ctrl or Shift key along with the mouse click to select multiple parts or assemblies. This feature tells STRATUS that any part or assembly selected should remain selected until a non-object like canvas white space is selected. To use this feature:
- Click the Click to Change Settings gear icon and then select the Multiple Part Selection checkbox in the sub-menu.
- Click either a part or space on the canvas and the sub-menu will disappear.
- Click multiple parts and they will all be selected.
- Or, click the first part, the last part, and then the Select Connected tool to select all parts between the 2 initially selected parts.
- Once parts or assemblies are selected, Tools like those under Actions can be used.
- Click in empty space to clear your part selections.
Dynamic Tags
The Dynamic Tags checkbox has been added to all of the Viewer (Models, Packages, and Assemblies) pages. To use the Dynamic Tags feature:
- On any Viewer page, the Dynamic Tags checkbox is unchecked. All of the tags display, overlap, and are difficult to use.
- Dynamic Tags checkbox is checked which hides overlapping tags on the page, and updates with zoom and orbit views.
Feet Inch and Decimal Inch Toggle
For Imperial models, dimensions can be displayed in Decimal Inches or Feet Inches in the Assemblies > Viewer. To toggle between Feet Inch and Decimal Inch dimensions:
Click the Display dimensions as Decimal Inch check box.
Viewer Search for Parts, Assemblies, and Packages
The Viewers Search is available in the Models, Packages, and Assemblies Viewers and provides the ability to search for parts, assemblies, and packages using various properties.

Features
Package View
90% of the time the default view in the Packages Viewer will display the needed information.
90% of the time the default view in the Packages Viewer will display the needed information. In some cases, when a user selects a View that does not contain all the parts in the Packages, a warning icon will display "View does not contain all parts in the Packages". To resolve the issue, change to a view that includes all parts in the package.
In other cases, like risers, the default view may not include all of the model parts and will need to be overridden. Only a Project Admin can change and override a default view.
Users who are not a Project Admin under Admin > Project > Team do not have a View option in the Packages Viewer. Below is an example where the View drop-down does not display.
- In some cases like the one below, the view created in Revit does not include all parts in the Package. As a result, a Project Admin will need to override the default view to display a view that does include all of the parts in the Package. In this example, the Top half view displays the full dimensions of the pipe but does not display the bottom pipe parts because they were not included in this Revit view.
- If the Project Admin selects a view that does not include all of the model parts included in the Package, the following message will display and the Project Admin will need to select a different view.
- After a Project Admin selects a view (Ex. Full model) that includes all of the model parts for the Package, anyone who opens the Package will see the selected view.
Clone Package for a Different Package Category
Another use case is to clone a package that was used as a fabrication package category and create a new package in a shipment package category.
In this case:
- Open a package and then click the Viewer tab. The package contents are filtered in a viewer and the STRATUS toolbar is available.
- Click the Actions > Packages option and create a new package using a different package category. If the new package will include the same package elements, click the + Isolated Assemblies / Parts button and the elements will be added to the new package.
- You could also change the package contents by selecting parts and assemblies in the viewer.
- Note: Creating a new package like this could also be done using the Models > Viewer > Filters > Packages and then creating the package under Actions > Packages workflow.
Division Not Assigned to the Package
If a Division was not assigned to a package when a Tracking Status change is made, the Division will not display. For example:
- When this package was changed to the Issued tracking status, a Division was not assigned. As a result, the Division display is blank inside the brackets.
- To update the Division, click the Tracking tab, select the Status and then select the Division.
- The Division will display.
- Notes:
- If a Division is not selectable, it means that a Division has not been checked under the Tracking Status Group on the Admin > Company > Tracking Statuses page. Check a checkbox and then refresh the Tracking tab to make a Division selectable.
- Check that a Division has been defined for the checkbox selected (above) under Admin > Company > Divisions.
- If a Division is not selectable, it means that a Division has not been checked under the Tracking Status Group on the Admin > Company > Tracking Statuses page. Check a checkbox and then refresh the Tracking tab to make a Division selectable.
Package Viewer - View PDF Attachment
The Package's Viewer provides the ability to view a PDF attachment. This feature is useful for non-modeled packages. To use this feature:
Create a package under Packages > New Package.
Under the Package’s > Attachments tab, attach one or more PDFs.
Under the Package’s > Viewer tab, the PDF(s) will display. Use the View drop-down to view different PDF’s.
