Q: What can be done about the Fabrication Job error received when I try to generate a MAJ or PCF file on the Packages Dashboard?
A: A Fabrication Job error similar to the one above occurs when files are being created and the Fabrication dll displays "Oversized Parts" dialog popup for oversized patterns (below). The problem is that the files are created on the STRATUS server and users cannot interact with the dialogs. Autodesk will update the Fabrication dll to supress popup dialogs like these in an upcoming release. Below is a work around until this release is made.
To work around this issue, modify your Fabrication Database and republish the model as follows:
Open the Fabrication database that the model is using with CADmep, ESTmep or CAMduct.
Select to the Manufacturing tab and ensure "Automatically use these setting without prompting" is check On.
- Select OK to save the changes,
- Follow publish instructions for your environment:
- If in AutoCAD CADmep re-publish the model.
- If the model is in Revit, reload the fabrication database into the model by selecting "Settings" and "Reload Configuration".
Once the database is reloaded into the model, re-publish to STRATUS. Re-publish is needed as the ESJ contains a snapshot of the fabrication database.
You should now be able to create the output files from the Packages Dashboard without the error.
