An Alias is the way to identify different property names in different parts that mean the same thing. Once defined, an alias can be used in a filter or report. 

For example:

Diameter – Model Properties that contain Diameter values include Diameter, Diameter Trade Size, Duct Diameter and more.

Weight – Model Properties that contain Weight values include Total Weight, Weight, and more.
