Station can be associated with a person or a tool in your shop (pipe cutting station, a weld station, a plasma table, final assembly, or shipping).

A Station can be used in 3 different ways:

Assign to a Device - A Station can be

A Station can be used in 3 different ways:

  1. Assign to a Device - A Station can be assigned to a device and used to filter tasks.

  2. Sign In to a Station - A user can Sign in to a Station so that tracking metrics can be collected.

  3. Assign to a Device and Sign In to a Station - In

this case, a station is both assigned to a device so that tasks can be filtered and a user must Sign in to a station so that metrics are collected.Time Saving Note: The STRATUS Customer Success Team has configured and can transfer to your company database Filters, Reports, Task Definitions, Task Workflows, Task Categories, Cost Categories, Cost Types, Tracking Statuses, and other Admin configurations. Station Configuration

  1. Configure a Station under Admin > Company > Stations.

    1. Image - When a station is "Assigned to this device" (see below), the station image, if added, will display at the top of the page next to the user's badge. Otherwise, the default image will display. Hover over the image to display the station name.

    2. Upload - Browse to upload the image file from your computer. The image will be used instead of the default image if it is uploaded.

    3. Name (Required) - The name of the Station. Tip: Use a standardized naming convention that uses a prefix so that the Stations sort in a logical way. Station names are selected on the Package's Cut Lists tab and the Package's Point Lists tab.

    2. Description (Required) - The description can be the same or similar to the Name and is only visible on the Stations page. 

    3. Taks Definitions - At each Station, (Ex. Weld Booth Station) a sequence of tasks happen. These are Task Definitions and are configured on the Task Definitions page. Often times, when working on an assembly, station's tasks interact. A Task Definition can be applied to a Part, Assembly, or both. The Task Definitions selected for a Station are the process tasks required for each station when a Task Workflow is applied. See the Task Definitions article for more information.

    2. Managed Materials - After the Station has been configured, a Managed Material can be added. A Managed Material is used when a cut list is generated. In this case, the Station will automatically be selected based on the Material and Trade Size. See the Materials (Admin) article for more information. The material selected after using the Edit Material button will display.

    2. Assign to this device

      1. Assign to this device is used to filter tasks assigned to a station in a Task Definition or a Task Workflow.

      2. When you (the Admin)

      3. While an admin can assign multiple devices to multiple stations, it recommended to only assign one station per device. Assigning multiple devices to multiple stations is most

often used during testing.

    Sign In to Stations

    To log tracking status changes made by a station for tracking metrics, a user must Sign in to the station. After the user has signed in, any tracking status changes the user makes will be logged and can be used in tracking reports. See the TrackingStatusChange() Function section of the Fields article for more information. 

    Sign In to a Jobsite Station

    To Sign in to a Jobsites station:

    1. Click Jobsites and then click the Sign in button associated with the Station.Image Modified

    2. Once signed in, the user's badge will change to the station icon and the Sign out button will display.Image Modified

    3. To Sign in to a different station, click the Sign in button associated with the station. The user will be:

      1. Automatically signed out of any station that they are currently Signed in to

      2. Signed in to the selected station

      3. The user’s badge will change to the new station’s icon.Image Modified

      4. In addition, clicking the badge will display the company and station that the user is signed into.

    Sign In to a Shop Station

    To Sign in to a Shops station:

    1. Click the Shops tab and then click the Sign in button associated with the Shop.

    Station As Part of the Cut List Workflow

    To automatically assign a cut list to a station based on material:

    1. Define a material under Admin > Company > Materials. If the same material (Ex. Carbon Steel -IPS) will be sent to 2 different stations depending on the trade size, define the material twice and then set a trade size range for each. Be sure the material name is a valid material name. See the Materials (Admin) article for more information.

    2. Define a station under Admin > Company > Stations. If the material will be sent to different stations depending on the trade size, define each station. Once the station is defined, click the Edit Materials button to select the material that is sent to the station.

    2. To generate the cut list, click the Cut Lists tab on an open package and then click the Generate Cut Lists button. If the package had materials and trade sizes defined above, the Station would be correctly selected.
