Project Roles enable granular permissioning of Stratus features including menu items,  Filters, Divisions, Reports, and Tracking Statuses.  In order for a user other than the company administrator to login to Stratus, at least one project needs to be setup. The Project Admin role is configured out-of-the-box with all permissions and can be assigned to anyone. This section only needs to be considered when your company wants to differentiate project roles and permissions.

Note: The ability for a user to view a package on the Packages Dashboard depends on having the correct Project Role for the Tracking Status, Package Category, and the Division associated with the package.

A Project Role is a permission configuration that applies across all company projects. Only a user whose project role is Project Admin can configure project roles. The project role determines which dashboards, pages, features a user can access.

STRATUS

Stratus ships with project roles including Project Admin, Detailer, Project Manager, Shop Manager, Shop Work Field Manager, Field Worker, and each includes default values. These names can be edited, deleted, cloned, and new project roles can be created. Each user is assigned one project role and the Project Admin (project role) can create as many project roles as needed.

Set Project Role Permissions

To set project role permissions:

  1. Login as a user who has Project Admin permission. Note: The user who first sets up a company account has the Project Admin project role by default. This can be changed later.

  2. Go to Admin > Company > Project Roles. The Project Roles configuration page displays. By default, no Project Roles will display, but the Project Admin role has access to everything and all other out-of-the-box roles have access to nothing.

Set a User's Project Role on a Project Team

For each project, users of your company need to be added to a project team. And, for each project, each team member is assigned a Project Role. Tip for managing user's project roles: Users who have been assigned to a group under Admin > Company > Users can be quickly added to the team with a set project role. See the Users (Admin) article for more information.

To assign a user to a project team and set their project role for that team

under Admin > Project >

under Admin Project Teams, see the Team (Admin) article for more information.
