Configuration
To create a new cost category:
Configure a filter that can be applied to your published models that captures the cost category. See the Filters (Admin) article for more information. For example, to categorize all Rectangular Duct, set a rule where CID = 866.
To configure the Cost Category, go to Admin > Company > Cost Categories, click New Cost Category and enter values.
Name - The Cost Category name and Code will display in the STRATUS.Part.CostCategory field.
Filter - Select the filter to be used to isolate elements for this Cost Category. In this example, select the filter "Rectangular Duct for Cost Category" created above.
Code - This is the Cost Category code used by your company.
Color - This is the color of the parts that match this Cost Category when Display Modes > Categories is selected.
Once configured, publish a model that includes parts that match the filter. Select one of the parts, display it's properties and verify that the STRATUS.Part.CostCategory field has the correct Name and Code.
Note: Cost Categories can be manually changed under Actions > Categories.
