Where to switch between V1 and V2 viewer

The dropdown to switch between the V1 and the V2 viewer, if available, will be located in the upper left-hand corner of the STRATUS Viewer

Differences between V1 and V2 viewer

The V1 and V2 viewers are utilizing different technologies. The V2 viewer utilizes the SVF2 technology to boost the performance of the viewer in STRATUS. Some older models that do not utilize SVF2 will only be able to use the V1 viewer. Most models should be able to migrate to the V2 viewer.

Risks of running the incorrect viewer

There are no risks of running either view option, however we recommend running the V2 viewer for the boost in performance.

You should not need to migrate the selected viewer for a model more than once. When switching the selected viewer, ensure that there are no users currently active in the model, as changes they are making may not be saved until the viewer migration is complete, and the page is refreshed.

Permissions required to update selected viewer

The option to change the selected viewer is visible to Project Admins and users with a Project Role with access to “Delete Models”.

What is the purpose of having both the V1 and V2 options

The option to switch will eventually be removed, but the option is there to maintain and help migrate older models to the V2 viewer. The V2 viewer is recommended for a boost in performance.
