Non-modeled Field Requests

Non-modeled Field Requests for modeled projects can be handled in STRATUS using common workflows that enable you to track the package and assembly through the project.  Workflows where the project does not have a model can be accomplished however, currently, a model with at least one 3D object must be published to the project.

The Package's STRATUS Sheet tab displays targeted reports based on details of the selected Package. Some package details like assembly names, spool names, or item numbers can be added to the package before the report is generated. Creating a Package STRATUS Sheet requires a 2-step process: 1) Create a Template and 2) Create a Report associated with the Template.

Create a Package Category

  • Though not required, you can create an Admin > Company > Package Category to categorize and name your Field Request. Ex. Field Request with the abbreviation set to FR.

Create a Package

  1. Create a Package either under Packages > Dashboard > New Package, or the more common workflow under Models > Viewer > Actions > Packages > New Package.
  2. Name the Package
    1. Override any Package naming, like BIM Area Abbreviation, that is not relevant for the Field Request.
    2. Select the Package Category if applicable.
  3. Open the Package. Here you can you use Package Tools like Tracking and Notes.
  4. Attach the Field Request to the package. Often times a field request is sketched on a piece of paper or is a PDF from an outside source.
    1. Select the Attachments tab and click the New Attachment button.
    2. Select the attachment. The attachment is now part of the package.
  5. Attach the Field Request to an assembly. Often times a field request is sketched on a piece of paper or is a PDF from an outside source.
    1. Select the Attachments tab and click the New Attachment button.
    2. Select the attachment. The attachment is now part of the package.
  6. When the shop opens the package, they will see that there is an attachment.

  7. Click to open the attachment and work from the sketch.

  8. If bill of materials are needed, click the package’s BOM tab, click the New Line Item button and then add a row for each item adding as much detail as needed.

  9. Note: All cuts would be manual cuts. This workflow would not send TigerStop cut list information to the station.
  10. The packages tracking status can be updated in the Assembly Viewer or the Package’s Tracking tab, so the package’s tracking status and task workflows can be used just like a modeled package.
