Added Viewer Search for Parts, Assemblies, and Packages

Add to the Viewers (Models, Packages, and Assemblies) the ability to search for parts, assemblies, and packages using various properties.

Settings

  1. Check the Settings to be used for the search. Note: The page does not need to be refreshed for the settings to be changed; Settings are sticky and will be retained from one viewer to the next and from one model to the next.

    1. Match On - Note: The properties searched may depend on object type (Package, Assembly, or Part) as noted below.

      1. All - Each Match On checkbox will be checked.

        3. Part - STRATUS.Part.WebId

    2. Settings:

      1. Replace Selection - When clicking Item A in the search results, Item A will highlight both in the viewer and in the search results. When Item B is clicked in the search results, Item B will be highlighted, but Item A will no longer be highlighted. Selecting Item B replaces Item A. For example, assembly DMV-ROOF-0001 was selected, but then assembly DMV-ROOF-0002 was selected and is now highlighted in the viewer.

      2. Keep Open After Selecting - When clicking in the search results, Item A will highlight both in the viewer and in the search results. When Item B is clicked in the search results, both Item A and Item B will be highlighted. For example, assembly DMV-ROOF-0001 was selected and now assembly DMV-ROOF-0002 has been selected and both are highlighted in the viewer.

Search

Search criteria can be entered using any of the following three methods:

  1. Type text into the text box.

    1. For example, enter search characters (Ex. H). As characters are entered matching Packages, Assemblies, and Parts will display in the list.

  2. Scan a QR Code using a handheld scanner. Note: The QR URL settings must be checked under Match On.

    1. Before scanning, the Viewer Search page must be the active page (Ex. the last mouse click must be on the page).

      1. (Optional) - The Scan QR code using handheld scanner button does not have to be clicked to scan a QR code. The purpose of this button is to remind users that a handheld scanner can be used to enter a QR code URL. If the button is clicked the following message will display.

    2. Use the handheld scanner to scan the QR code.

    3. The QR code will display in the search text and in the search results.

  3. Scan a QR Code using a tablet camera. Note: The QR URL settings must be checked under Match On.

    1. Click the Scan a QR Code using a tablet camera button. The Scan QR Code with Camera or Reader dialog will display where the camera will be selected.

    2. Point the camera to the QR code until the Scan Successful popup message displays in the bottom left corner.

    3. The QR code will display in the search text and in the search results.

Working with Search Results

After search results display:

  1. Expand/Collapse View Matches

    1. Items under Packages, Assemblies, and Parts can be expanded by clicking the View # Matches link (Ex. View 7 Matches).

    2. Click the Collapse button ( left of the Assemblies heading) to return to displaying the list Packages, Assemblies, and Parts subset.

  2. Zoom on selection(s)

    1. Select one or more items in the search results.

    2. Click the Zoom button to soom in on the selected Packages, Assemblies, and Parts in the viewer. Zoom results depend on where these items are located in the model.

  3. Search Results Outside the Current Packages / Assemblies Viewer - Since the search searches the model, parts, assemblies, and packages outside the current Packages or Assemblies Viewer will display in the search results annotated with an icon to distinguish it in the list.

    1. Currently, Package 123-FP-ROOF-0003 is open in the viewer.

    2. In this example, the search for 38358-FP-0003 is a different package name.

    3. Click package 38358-FP-0003 in the search results and it will display highlighted in the current viewer. This shows package 38358-FP-0003 in relation to the currently opened package.

    4. Click anywhere else in the model or unselect package 38358-FP-0003 and it will no longer display.
